These ten days in Uganda are ten days you will never forget. Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa, is full of wonders.  There are ten different National Parks full of excitement because of their wildlife, natural wonders, panoramic views, and a variety of plant life. So, come enjoy ten days in the Pearl of Africa and feel at home. 

Safari Itenary

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Start your day with breakfast served at your hotel in preparation for the coming adventure.  Your experienced driver-guide will arrive to the hotel ready to pick you up and start the drive to Murchison Fall National Park, en-route you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to enjoy rhinoceros tracking.  You will be having lunch at the sanctuary, there after embark on your journey farther north via Masindi town.  This town is one of the oldest towns in Uganda best remembered for accommodating Humphrey Bogart and Katheryn Hepburn during the filming of “The African Queen”.  After your time in Masindi there will be a stopover at the top of Murchison Falls.  Here you will witness the majestic Nile River as it tumbles over the rocks creating rainbows, and a refreshing mist.  Enjoy your stay here listening to the  roar of the river and enjoy the refreshing breeze.  From here you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and over-night.  Enjoy the peace of the evening. 

 

Day 2: Murchison Falls game drive and Victoria Nile cruise
Early morning, after breakfast, get ready for a wonderful experience on your game drive, where with the help of your driver-guide you will see elephants, giraffes, lion(s), buffaloes, warthogs, baboons and a huge variety of other wildlife in their native setting.  On a good day you might even get to see the elusive leopard. 

After lunch you will head to the river’s edge to board the boat for your afternoon cruise on the Victoria Nile river to the bottom of Murchison Falls.  Along the way you will see hippopotamus and crocodiles along the shore and floating in the water.  The hippopotamus will be found in family pods intersperse with some of the most amazing bird viewing in the world. From the safety of the boat you might also see elephants, buffaloes and other wildlife on the shores of the Nile.

After the cruise you will be taken back to your lodge where you will have an opportunity to rest, refresh yourself sunbathing or just enjoying the scenery.  Enjoy your evening.

 

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park
This morning your driver-guide will take you from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park through breathtaking scenery.  Along the way you will have a short stop in Fort Portal town for lunch and a short rest.  After arrival in the park you may choose to go for a nature walk around the park to enjoy spot owels, civets, and the 12m-long Demidoff’s dwarf galago.  Enjoy the hospitality of the the park’s guest house where you will receive a wonderfully prepared dinner and a restful evening.

 

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park – chimpanzee tracking
Get your walking shoes on early because today you will spend time with our fascinating relatives – the chimpanzee. Watch them swing through the trees or move quickly across the ground in front of you. You will see them in large numbers as they live in family groups.  Kibale Forest is home to 12 species of primate which include chimpanzee, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, black faced red colobus, olive baboons and an array of bird life, including the great blue turaco.

Once you have lunch at the guest house you will be given an opportunity to visit the Bigodi swamp for bird watching and viewing of other small mammals that had not been seen in the park.

The only thing left for today is dinner and relaxation at your lodge.  Enjoy.

 

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park- Queen Elizabeth National Park
This is the day your driver-guide will get you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best National Park of Uganda, with outstanding wildlife and beauty. The park has a diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, and swamps.  The park is also home to the rare and impressive tree climbing lions found resting on the branches of the fig tree.  Other animals you may spot are the buffalo, elephant, water buck, Uganda cob, and others.  In the evening visit the Katwe Crater Lake to watch flamingos as the sun is setting off.

Once you are returned to your lodge you can prepare for dinner then relax.  Sweet dreams!

 

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – game drive and Kazinga Channel cruise
The day will start early enabling you to spot animals out and about in the park in the cool morning. Your driver-guide will help you spot animals such as the lion, buffaloe, spotted hyena, elephant, antelopes even the elusive leopard. 

In the afternoon get ready for a unique cruise on the Kazinga Channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This area is thought to be home to the largest concentration of hippopotamus in Africa.  You will see the hippo huff and spray mere feet away from the boat.  Along the shore watch animals linger in the water or refresh themselves drinking the water.  This cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching, and relaxation. 

When the cruise comes to a close you will be driven to your lodge to enjoy dinner and peaceful evening.  

 

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenatrible National Park
Early in the morning your driver-guide will come to collect you and your belongings to depart for Bwindi Impenatrible National Park.  Your route will be through the Ishasha sector famously known for its rare unique African tree climbing lions and other wildlife.

Enjoy your time in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is home to half of the endangered mountain gorillas in the world .

Dinner will be served at your lodge before you turn in for the evening.

 

Day 8: Gorilla tracking
This morning you will depart for the park headquarters where you will receive a briefing from one of the park rangers/guides before starting your Gorilla trekking adventure.  You will pass through steeply forested and beautiful landscape coming upon several animal trails. The climax of the excursion is the the exciting and memorable opportunity to view the gentle and endangered mountain Gorillas. Since this adventure may take anywhere from a half to a full day a picnic lunch will be provided for your enjoyment. 

When your day of trekking is complete, you will be returned to you lodge for a restful evening and dinner.  Have a good night.


Day 9: Bwindi Impen– Lake Bunyonyi

After your day of trekking it is now time for a day of rest.  Your driver-guide will come for you after your breakfast to transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi.  Check into your lodge then enjoy relaxing activities such as sunbathing, swimming and boating. A tasty dinner will close out your day.  Find peace in your dreams.

 

 

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala
Today you head back to Kampala, but the adventure is not over.  Along the way, after lunch in Mbarara, you will stop at the equator or Kayabwe.  Here you will find shopping, snack food, take your picture on the equator, or watch a fun experiment with water preformed by locals.  This is an interesting and refreshing stop.  Enjoy your time here.  Your driver will safely deliver you to your hotel with your memories and possessions in tact.
