This eight day safari will be some of the most amazing days of your life! During this time you will tour three of Uganda’s most popular parks and see some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Witness wildlife as you have never seen living within the parks so keep your cameras ready to record this phenomenal journey.
Day one: Kampala –Murchison Falls National Park
Your adventure will begin when your driver – guide arrives to transport you to Ziwa Rhio Sanctuary. At the sanctuary you will see the endangered rhinoceros in this safe habitat. Tracking this rare animal is an adventure not soon forgotten. You will eat a tasty lunch here at the sanctuary before moving on to the top of Murchison Falls. At the top of the falls you will watch the waters of the Nile River as they crash and tumble over the rocks creating many rainbows and a fine refreshing mist. The travel portion of your day will end when you are safely delivered to your lodge for an evening of dining and rest. Have a good night.
Day two: Murchison Falls National Park game drive and Victoria Nile River cruise
Today you will wake up early so you can experience the park animals as they move around the park. On the game drive you may see Africa’s BIG five as well as the Ugandan Kob, water buck, and others. After the game drive you will be taken back to your lodge for lunch and a time of rest before heading down to the Victoria Nile River for a river cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. From the safety of the boat you will see crocodiles, pods of hippopotamus, and a large variety of birds living on the shores of the river and flying overhead. Once returned to the shore you will be returned to your lodge for an evening of rest and fine dining. Sweet dreams!
Day three: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park
Start your day with a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way you will see small towns, villages, and Ugandan locals going about their day. Before arriving at the park you will stop in Fort Portal town for a delicious lunch and short time to relax. Once you arrive in the park check into your lodging before deciding if you would like to go for a nature walk around the park. On your walk you just might spot owls, civets, and the 12cm-long Demidoff’s dwarf galago. Back at the lodge you can enjoy a flavorful dinner and restful evening. Good night!
Day four: Kibale Forest-Chimpanzee trekking
This morning you will lace up your walking shoes for today’s adventure with our fascinating relatives, the chimpanzee. As you spend time with the chimpanzee you can watch them as they swing through the trees or move quickly across the ground in front of you. The park is home to 12 species of primate including black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and olive baboons. Along with the primates you will enjoy the an incredible array of bird life, including the great blue turaco. Once you have finished your lunch you may decide to take an afternoon trip to Bigodi Swamp for more bird watching as you view other small mammals not seen in the park. Evening will bring another pleasing dinner and peace filled evening. See you in the morning!
Day five: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today will start with a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best National Park of Uganda. The park has diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes and swamps. It is also home to the rare tree climbing lions as well as buffaloes, elephants, water bucks, Uganda cobs, just to name a few. As you enter the park, you will be taken on an en-route game drive so keep your camera ready. After checking into your lodge you will have the opportunity to visit Katwe Crater Lake to watch flamingos as the sun sets. Enjoy dinner at your lodge as this day comes to a close.
Day six: Queen Elizabeth National Park – game drive and Kazinga Channel cruise
This morning’s game drive will keep you snapping photos of the park’s wildlife and scenery. Here you may see lion(s), buffaloes, spotted hyenas, elephants, antelopes and the elusive giant forest hogs. After lunch and an opportunity for a short rest get ready for a unique cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This beautiful area is believed to be home of the largest hippopotamus concentration in Africa. From the safety of your boat you will be entertained by the amazing hippo and the many animals you will see drinking and resting at the water’s edge. This cruise offers you an excellent platform for photography of the 550 species of bird life along the rivers edge.
Day seven: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Mburo National Park
Today you proceed to Lake Mburo National Park while viewing majestic and beautiful scenery along the way. Once you have checked in at your lodge, freshen up and enjoy lunch before departing on an afternoon cruise where you will see crocodiles, hippos, and many variety of waterbirds. Zebras, kobs, impalas, waterbucks, topi, and baboons can all be seen on your early evening game drive. Enjoy your last evening on safari with a great dinner and good night’s sleep.
Day eight: Lake Mburo- Kampala
This morning you will depart on a half-day game drive in a quest to see the game not spotted the previous day. At the conclusion of the game drive you will head to Kampla with an stop en-route for lunch at Mpambire drum making village. Here you will see all sizes of drums learn their cultural significance and, possibly, buy some of the handcrafts there. Your safari will come to an end when you are safely delivered to your hotel in Kampala. We wish you a safe onward journey.
